Saving the world with biochar - Part 4 "The miracle of Terra Preta"

"Building up humus is actually the most important thing for me when you think about climate change!", Gerald Dunst implores and his heart sinks - and his magic word is "Terra Preta".

Gerald studied the famous black earth of the Amazon Indians himself on site. According to his son, he could hardly get out of the pit. In the end, it was the impetus for a 6-year research project at the end of which he was able to realize his "solar earth".

A soil in which carbon is bound through composting and the addition of biochar - but above all: the higher proportion of fungi means that humus is not broken down, but built up - and CO2 is thus removed from the air. In this way, agriculture can become a sink for CO2 instead of a source (currently 11%) - this is how agriculture can help us save the climate!
