This week, our cooperation partner ACADEMY.WS hosted the [NET]WORKING SUSTAINABLE event at the Park Hyatt in Vienna. The event was dedicated to the transformation to a sustainable economy. Peter Hanke, Executive City Councillor for Finance, Economy, Labor, International Affairs and Wiener Stadtwerke, opened the event with a warm welcome. Wolfgang Schwayda, CEO and founder of ACADEMY.WS, then welcomed the participants on behalf of the organization.

Andreas Jäger, meteorologist, author and member of the ACADEMY.WS Scientific Advisory Board, kicked off the program with a keynote speech on sustainable business practices. In the panel discussion that followed, leading experts shared their perspectives and experiences:

  • Dr. Marc Schabka from ÖBB-BBC GmbH, senior expert in the field of sustainability and project management
  • Dr. Helmut Forchtner from Siemens Mobility Austria GmbH, Sustainability Manager for NEE & CEE
  • Philipp Horner from voestalpine High Performance Metals Division GmbH, Chief Sustainability Officer
  • Philipp Irschik from Steiermark Energie, Executive Director Strategy & Business Development and member of the Management Board

Particularly noteworthy is the participation of Prof. Dr. Gernot Wagner, leading climate economist and founding director of the Solar Geoengineering Research Program at Harvard University, who took part in the discussion via live link from New York.

The event not only offered inspiring presentations, but also plenty of opportunity for exchange and networking during the flying dinner. We would like to thank everyone involved for an informative and successful evening.
