Enzo Escoba - fashion can also be different!

Munich is home to a fashion label founded in 2017 by young business economist Fabio di Salvo with the aim of offering sustainability, circular economy and the common good paired with cool design.

The entrepreneur is convinced: "Sustainability and lifestyle are not a contradiction in terms. Sustainability has become a decisive factor in business, civil society, politics and science. What does a society gain from financial wealth if ecological interests are neglected and our resources disappear?" The company's catalog of values is therefore based on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Ecological production

The raw materials used are organic cotton and polyester recycled from PET bottles, as well as upcycled cowhide for the bracelets. Fabio di Salvo deliberately chose Bangladesh as the production location, where he offers fair wages and working conditions. The young founder explains: "Although our products are manufactured in Bangladesh, a country with a high level of resentment, they are produced under demonstrably humane and environmentally friendly conditions. We show that there is another way - that's why our labels also say 'Proudly made in Bangladesh'. This is how fair trade and quality can be combined."

The second life

Enzo Escoba offers its end customers a very special service - the so-called Fashion Circle. This means that anyone can return an item to the company after a certain period of time and receive a voucher in return. These returned items are refurbished and resold in the company's own second-hand store.

Considering how quickly many people get tired of their clothes, this is a good alternative to conserve valuable resources and avoid mountains of waste!

Social commitment

Helping others is part of the company's philosophy. For example, the fashion label supports the Münchner Kindl-Heim and the humanitarian aid organization Handicap International. A total of 170 arm and leg prostheses for war victims were produced in 2020-22 thanks to donations amounting to 7,500 euros.

In an interview with pro.earth, Fabio di Salvo was able to inspire us with his vision, enthusiasm and positive energy!
