Anyone who has ever baked fruit bread knows what this means for the room climate in olfactory terms - pure Christmas.

But you also know that it is a lot of work and therefore deserves the greatest appreciation. So we think it also makes a wonderful culinary Christmas gift or souvenir for an invitation.

It's definitely worth the effort!

This is how it works:

It is important to choose the ideal music or audio book for the theme, an apron, perhaps a glass of red wine (Martini is also suitable) - and GO!!!

500 g spelt flour

30 g brown sugar

250 g pears grated & with peel

500 g apples grated & with peel

250 g dried figs

250 g raisins

125 g prunes

200 g hazelnuts

100 g rum

1 teaspoon cinnamon

0.25 tsp clove powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 sachet (16 g) baking powder

🎄 Bear in mind that you have to start a day before baking, because pears, apples, raisins, figs (finely chopped), prunes (finely chopped), hazelnuts, rum, brown sugar, cinnamon and clove powder have to be mixed well and left to infuse for about 12 hours.

🎄 On the day of baking, preheat the oven to 170 degrees hot air, mix the fruit mixture with the rest of the ingredients and form 6 loaves.

🎄 Bake the whole glory for 40-50 minutes until fragrant.

Tip: The proportion of fruit can also be distributed differently as long as the total proportion remains unchanged. For example, you can use pears instead of raisins (or instead of half).

If the bread gets too dark, reduce the temperature to 160 degrees.

Have fun!!! 💚
