If you want to do something good for the environment and look pretty good at the same time, it's best to look for second-hand stores and platforms. They are sprouting from the haggard ground of fast fashion and giving it a breather.

The new appreciation for trendy recycling takes worn clothing out of the dingy corner, gives it a stage and the attention it deserves.

Cheers to the trend towards second chances.

How often do we fall in love with pieces that we absolutely have to have, but then only rarely or perhaps never wear - but even selected favorite pieces deserve a life after being sorted out.

In short, second-hand is not only sensible, resource-saving and perhaps also inexpensive, it has made the leap into the trend and that's why we would particularly like to recommend that you take a look before you buy new clothes to see if the second-hand market has something suitable for you.

Burggasse 24

Nomen est Omen, at Burggasse 24 in Vienna's 7th district you will find selected pieces sorted by color in an absolutely cool location with a fireplace and integrated café. We love it! 💚

Vintage factory

At Mariahilferstraße 22, you can browse to your heart's content on 2 floors - the special thing about the Vintage Fabrik is that some of the items are "tailored" to the spirit of the times in the truest sense of the word. Tops have been shortened, sleeves cut off and thus have a new life ahead of them. However, the price level here is quite high. There is also an online store in this case.

Forget-me-not

In beautiful Altaussee there is a second-hand store with a difference, because it is all about timeless traditional costumes. But that's not all: dirndl skirts and aprons in the most unusual designs are sewn from antique or at least high-quality fabrics. One of our very special favorites. Also available as an online store.

You can find second-hand stores near you in Germany, Austria and Switzerland here.

And another idea: the clothes swap concept

A special kind of second-hand shopping is swapping. Various platforms offer swap meets, but the analog clothing swap events are particularly fun and we have already enjoyed a few of them.

Take part in the pro.earth community challenge 2023 , buy second hand and let our planet breathe a sigh of relief.
