The time has come - it's ripe

Today I'm going to tell you one of my biggest secrets of all:

My grandma's elderberry recipe

Actually, I should probably have discussed this in the family council - I hope you'll forgive me!

What is so special about it?

It was one of the highlights of my grandma's recipes because its flavor and consistency are simply unsurpassable. But maybe I'm not being completely objective...

To see for yourself, I recommend first inviting friends who are willing to work. You should also equip them with gloves and be very kind to them, because most of the work consists of "pruning" the elderberries (they stain very strongly). This involves separating them individually from the stems without leaving any residue.

Cooking only starts after this intensive work.

What we need

approx. ½ kg elderberries

10 dag sugar

½ l water

4-6 cloves

1 cinnamon bark

1 pkg. or 1 tbsp. vanilla sugar

1 apple or 1 pear

¼ kg plums

For binding:

1 pkg. vanilla custard powder

💜 Bring the elderberry to the boil in the sugar water and simmer for half an hour

💜 Deseed and cut the plums, peel and cut the apple or pear and simmer everything together with the cinnamon bark and cloves for another half an hour - stirring constantly in between.

💜 Finally, mix the custard powder with water and whisk the whole glory into a creamy, aromatic cooked dish.

You'll love it!!! 💚
