Bad climate for women - only we can change it
Singing great hymns on International Women's Day is not our thing. We want to provide you with facts so that you can see where we stand in terms of equality in 2024. This anamnesis is astonishing and sad, but important.
Violence
Every third woman worldwide is exposed to physical or sexualized violence at least once in her life, and of course they can only actively participate in political and economic life if they can live free from violence and oppression
Equal rights
If we continue at the current rate, it would take 140 years for women to be equally represented in the workplace in positions of power and leadership, yet global economic growth could increase by 20 trillion US dollars if they had the same educational and career opportunities as men.
Distribution of ownership
14% of landowners are women - in contrast, 43% of agricultural labor is provided by women. If they had the same access to the means of production, yields would be much higher.
Equal Payment
The expected lifetime income of women and men differs globally by 172 trillion dollars - twice the global gross domestic product
Genital mutilation
Female genital mutilation affects at least 200 million girls and women
Politics
The proportion of women in parliaments worldwide is 27%. If it were 10% higher, their greater focus on sustainability and climate policy could reduce annualCO2 emissions per capita by 0.24 tons.
When women are actively involved in peace negotiations, the chances of a peace agreement lasting at least two years are demonstrably 20 percent higher.
