As part of our "pro.earth presents" section, we are inviting FAIRTRADE Austria on stage today❗

FAIRTRADE Austria is a non-profit association that was founded in 1993 by organizations from the fields of fair trade, development policy, education, ecology and religion.
As a national FAIRTRADE organization, the association promotes the sale and consumption of certified FAIRTRADE products in Austria, but does not trade itself.

The FAIRTRADE vision: a world in which all smallholder families and workers on plantations in so-called developing countries can lead a safe and good life, realize their potential and decide their own future. 🍌☕

FAIRTRADE connects consumers, companies and producer organizations, changes trade through fair conditions and thus strengthens smallholder families and workers in the Global South. 👍

The FAIRTRADE seal stands for fairly grown and traded products. All ingredients of a product that are available under FAIRTRADE conditions must be traded according to FAIRTRADE standards. ❤

- Over 80% of FAIRTRADE producers are organized in small farmers' cooperatives.
- 1.9 million farmers and employees in 72 countries belong to FAIRTRADE
- 93% of Austrians are familiar with the FAIRTRADE seal
- More than every fourth banana in Austria comes from FAIRTRADE sources.
