Golden days - a song of praise for the changing seasons, even for "summer clingers"

The last fireworks of summer, but not really Indian summer yet. Days like gold and nights that don't quite let us forget the sultriness of the tropics. This year, summer is giving us a gentle farewell, allowing us to glide gently into the next phase of the year full of love - we could take this as an example, because these effortless transitions could be a symbol for life as a whole.

I didn't invent letting go, I have to admit. Whether it's loved ones, seasons, vacation spots, cars that have been driven to the graveyard or even books - their end sometimes leaves me struggling with unstable melancholy over the loss of heroes who have sometimes been with me for weeks. Is it just me?

When I look at the summer this year, I have to say that in the safety of central Europe, without too many catastrophic storms, we have been endlessly blessed with a gentle farewell to days at the lake, evenings on the terrace and afternoons under the walnut tree.

Even I, as a notorious "summer clinger", am at peace with this process and can slowly adjust and look forward to what is to come.

The colors

In summer, all the color and lushness is outside. The flowers, the shrubs, the trees - they give their all to provide a visual and olfactory firework display that presents itself to us anew every day for weeks and months.

Inside, I want nothing but lightness in these sultry days - all shades of white, clear surfaces, gossamer fabrics - at most pastel shades are allowed in the living room, which should remain a temple of coolness for as long as possible. For me, music should mainly consist of air during this time - the midday hours in particular should never be too earthy. Everything must float.

In the golden days, the transition can be very gentle, loving and intimate - like dancing with your beloved. The rooms of the house are slowly kissed awake again and warmth is allowed to enter, in terms of color, touch and sound.

The fragrance

It is an important barometer of the changing seasons - now it can become heavier again. Not least because cuisine is also an important part of the changing seasons.

It goes in the direction of pumpkin and apple, harbingers of cinnamon and cloves.

The music

It can also become more substantial again. Rich arrangements with full basses, but in combination with air and lightness, fill the rooms and gently wake us up from summer dreams - this year, well rested.
